status: semi-hiatus/irregular
how it started: the pandemic started in March 2020 for us here in the east, I joined a discord chat, made some cool online friends, and in August of the same year, finally started the free trial. played it on-off until October/November, then the EW trailer dropped and i was so fucking impressed i bought all the expacs and pre-ordered EW before even finishing the free trial. now we're here.
| expansion (overall) | Endwalker. emotional impact was there, cool areas, fantastic music. things could be better but we're not gonna talk about that right now. |
| expansion (distress) | Heavensward. i was absolutely wrecked after MSQ and couldn't stand any of the music from the HW areas for months at least. |
| expansion (mind fuck) | Shadowbringers. Phantom Amaurot fucked me up. my brain chemistry was forever changed that day. |
| raid series (8-man) | Eden raids from ShB. never played FF8 but i thought the references were cool. 'remixed' primal battles with real good mechanics and great music. |
| raid series (alliance) | Ivalice raids from SB. Nier raids from ShB is a strong contender but i liked the mechanics from Ivalice raids more. i like it so much i'd hard-queue the raids and ruin everyone's alliance roulette on tomestone events. |
| area | Phantom Amaurot, Elpis in second. if there was ever a new area centered on the ancients, it would be my favourite. |
| job (to play) | healer, because i'm only good at this role (i'm a WHM main). |
| job (questline) | not gonna say DRK because everyone knows its DRK (i know it's DRK). so uh the next best one will be BRD. i love them bard gaes! |
| job (artifact armor) | BLM, RDM, BRD. BLM wins in terms of hat size while RDM is red and classy. BRD has brimmed hats but gets third place because the 70 artifact armor is not a hat. SCH has mortarboards and they're big so it gets an honorary mention. |
| npc | Haurchefant i have strong feelings for, but i won't say he's a favourite. Hythlodaeus is the closest to a favourite npc. immediately smitten during the Elpis reveal. |
